About Advanced Solutions for Industrial Effluent Treatment Exploring Treatment Technologies and Strategies
Establishment of an effective and advance solutions for Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) is extremely important and critical to ensure that the treatment technologies and strategies employed suit the industry. Competent Person should be well aware of the available of various advance solutions that can be employed in their IETS in order to treat the wastewater and the final discharge effluent are in compliance with the Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluent) Regulations 2009.
However, due to the wide range of treatment technologies available and due to the complexity of wastewater content that is generated by the industry, it is always difficult for the Competent Person for Industrial Effluent Treatment System (CePIETSO-BP, CePIETSO-PCP) to access the best solution. Very often, due to shortage of knowledge on the availability of various treatment technologies and strategies, a Competent Person is not capable of accessing and finding the right solution to the problem that they faced.
The course will cover the general descriptions and understanding of the Conventional Treatment Processes of Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS). Physical treatment processes will be explained and illustrated. It also covers the Chemical treatment processes including the mechanism and chemical agents, as well as biological treatment processes inclusive of aerobic and anaerobic treatments. It provides guidance on the various type of membrane processes and illustrate with membrane technology applications. Eventually, it shows how the processed water can be further treated using advance oxidation processes before being discharged.
In conclusion, the participants will understand the various wastewater technologies and strategies and apply them in effective Industrial Effluent Treatment system (IETS) management. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of a wide range of treatment technologies in IETS, from conventional processes to advance treatment methods. These include the Physical, Chemical and Biological treatment processes, membrane processes and oxidation processes and apply the knowledge in the management of IETS. Participant will gain skills and confidence to effectively address the complex challenges associated with industrial effluent treatment and ensure the IETS is in compliance with Environmental Quality (Industrial Effluent) Regulations 2009.

- Comprehend Chemical and Biological treatment processes and their application in different type of industries. Coagulant and Flocculant processes, Aerobic and Anaerobic processes and their principles in various types of IETS applications.
- Discussion on Membrane processes such as Reverse Osmosis (RO), Ultrafiltration (UF) and Nanofiltration (NF). Study on Advance Oxidation Processes such as UV Oxidation and Ozonation.
