About The Event.
Water scarcity is becoming a growing concern, especially as water pollution continues to reduce the availability of clean water sources. In response to this issue, the Selangor state government has introduced the Zero Discharge Policy, aimed at encouraging factories to reduce raw water consumption and minimize wastewater discharge. Under this policy, industries are encouraged to recycle and reuse water within their operations, while new charges will be applied based on the volume of wastewater discharged following the Polluters-Pay Principle. This move is expected to push factories to invest in water-saving technologies and implement in-house water recycling systems.
This training course is designed to provide participants with a clear understanding of the Zero Discharge Policy and the steps industries can take to comply with it. Participants will explore real-world case studies on water pollution, learn about Zero-Liquid Discharge techniques, and gain practical knowledge on installing Rain Water and Grey Water Harvesting Systems. The course also highlights government incentives for implementing such systems and ends with strategies to reduce overall water usage in factories. By the end, participants will be better equipped to adopt sustainable water practices in their workplace.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- At the end of the program, participants will be able to:
Comprehend the water pollution, sources of pollution and the various major water pollution cases that happened in the world as well as in Malaysia. Comprehend the ZERO-DISCHARGE-POLICY implemented by the state of Selangor and the implications if this policy is eventually carried out in all other states. (Objective 1/From Module 1 and 2) - Comprehend the water reclamation and its purpose. Also, study of ZERO-LIQUID-DISCHARGE and how it can be implemented. Case-study of implementation in various industries is also presented. (Objective 2/ From Module 3 & 4)
- Comprehend the Rain Water Harvesting System and Grey Water Harvesting System. How the systems can be implemented and what are the filter elements. (Objective 3/ From Module 5 & 6)
