About The Event.
Scheduled Wastes generated by industries were largely disposed at the landfill areas or ends up being burnt at the incineration plant. With the “Cradle-To-Cradle” concept, as much as possible, these wastes should have been minimized and recycled. A reduction program should be put in place such that the scheduled wastes can be minimized.
However, lack of knowledge, experience and ideas on waste management has caused the wastes to ends up at either the landfill sites or the incineration plant. Scheduled Waste In-chargers are found to incapable of performing the tasks of wastes minimization due to in experience and short of ideas.
The course covers both the overview of scheduled waste management. It also covers the landfill site and its activities. Also, the course will cover the incineration plant and how the wastes are processed.
Eventually, special attention is being put on waste minimization and recycling. In conclusion, the participants will understand the landfill sites’ build-up, their activities and operations in handling the leachate problem. Detail study of incineration plant activities is also discussed. On the other hand, the participants will be thought on how the waste can be minimized or recycled and eventually only a small amount of wastes should ends up at either the landfill sites or incineration plants.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this program, participants will be able to;
- Comprehend the scheduled waste management operation and strategies.
- Comprehend on the build-up, activities of a landfill sites and how the leachate and other problems are handled. Besides, activities at a incineration plants are also discussed.
- Comprehend how to apply the “cradle-to-cradle” concept and achieve waste
minimization.
