About Optimizing Waste Management: Strategies for Co-Processing, Special Management, and Cost Reduction
With the introduction and encouragement from Department Of Environment (DOE) for Waste Generators to minimize wastes, a paper was published in 2015. Waste Generators are encouraged to dispose wastes through working with cement processing plants. Also, under Environment Quality (Scheduled Waste) Regulation 2005, Regulation No. 7 Special Management, Waste Generators are encouraged to work closely with other premises in order to minimize the wastes.
The course allows us to learn other waste minimization techniques. Among them, waste can be minimized by working closely with suppliers, waste collectors and contractors. Other techniques such as waste segregations, oil, solvent and metal recovery are also discussed.
In conclusion, this course will equip the participants with the general practices and techniques in waste minimization.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this 2-day program, participants will be able to;
- Comprehend the general concept of Scheduled Waste Management.
- Understand practical cases in waste minimization, especially through Co-processing and Special Management
- Understand other waste minimization techniques and practices such as waste segregation, oil,
solvent and metal recovery
